Uploading tracks to PC and converting them to Wav
Why do this?
Sometimes the audio tracks need to be worked in a way that is only possible on PC and so we have to transfer the individual tracks to PC and convert them from the BOSS proprietary format to WAV. We would then use an audio editing tool to edit them and a multitrack software to mix them into a song.
What is needed?
- PC with Windows or Macintosh with OSX
- BR Wave Converter 2.0 program, see the Downloads section.
- Mini type-B USB cable, this one. It does not come with the package.
- The recorder.
Procedure:
- Download the BR Wave Converter 2.0 and extract the file into a new directory. For example, C:/BRWC200.
- Turn on the MICRO BR and connect the USB to the computer. If it is the first time it will install the drivers automatically and recognize the MICRO BR as a drive.
- After it's installed, there will be a window asking if you want to open the drive. Open it and see what is the Drive Letter.
- Run C:/BRWC200/BRWC.exe. Choose the Drive name of the MICRO BR.
- Choose the Song you want to upload..
- If the tracks are mono select the track(s) you want to transfer. Selected tracks turn orange.
- Choose Go. Type a name for the tracks and the Saving directory. The tracks will have names like Song_01 for track 1, Song_02 for track 2.
- If the tracks are Stereo, link the pairs 1&2 and 3&4 by clicking the L/R buttons in the bottom and then choose Go. The tracks will have names like Song_0102_01 for the first stereo track, and Song_00304_01 for the second pair.
- You would then import this .WAV files to your prefered multitrack software or audio editing tool.
